Shadow Dragon is a remake of the very first Fire Emblem game, which appeared all the way back in the mists of time (i.e. 1990). A retelling of the original NES Fire Emblem, Shadow Dragon is looking to bring the series to DS for the first time in a big, big way. Combining a new actively updated online store with full-on player vs. player battle and voice chat, this is the most connected fans of the series have ever been with one another.

The story is a retelling of what players got in Japan back on NES/Famicom, but the design is entirely remade, adding in the weapon wheel, more story elements, and keeping the design of “lose that unit, and they’re gone for good” that fans have come to love over the years. If you’re a fan of Advance Wars, you simple need to get this one down on your wishlist, as Fire Emblem is the bigger brother that kicked it all off for Nintendo, and strategy games alike.
